 | Several European countries are currently implementing new discharge policies and new methods are being developed to measure and predict biological effects.
The oil industry is extending its exploration and production activities into the Arctic and into Deep waters.The new methods must therefore be adapted to these conditions. New biomarker knowledge must be transferred from temperate to arctic areas |
BioSea JIP is a joint research programme to develop and adapt such methods for North Sea, deep-sea and Arctic conditions. ENI Norge AS and Total E&P Norge AS joined forces regarding research on biomonitoring and biological effects,especially targeted towards Arctic and deep waters. Many of the two companies' activities at IRIS & Akvamiljø were merged into a Joint Industry Project called BioSea JIP. Envionmental research benefits from co-operation |
