Fauna analyses
| The fauna analyses include both the quantitative and/or qualitative analyses of benthic soft and/or hard bottom fauna (and flora) communities, and focuses mainly on species composition and diversity. However, we suggest that biomass and production measures are included in larger ecological projects.

Environmental assessments of diversity are made following the standards of the Norwegian Pollution Control Authority.Identification of macrobenthic invertebrate fauna is carried out by our permanent staff members and other experts within different taxonomical groups. Our main expertise is in the identification of Crustacea, with special emphasis on the amphipods, but we also cover many Mollusca and Echinodermata species.
Our expertise also covers general ecological considerations of the importance of benthic organisms in different ecosystems, including their abundance, biomass, production and productivity.
