Main Objectives
- Build an easy and effective tool for risk assessment analysis for the marine environment to be used by environmental agencies and management, and based on multiple biological responses (Biomarker approach) in Blue Mussels
- Extract environmental quality information from biological responses of marine organisms, using a battery of biomarkers which represent the integrated response of a biological system.
- Selection of a suitable set of biomarkers for monitoring programs, depending on the type of pollutants present in the environment, with emphasis on PAHs and metals.
